@fred Wow that's quite something. I guess it's kind of like using more than one pixel as a pixel, displaying the colour using a number of dots... presumably it can't be saved as a jpeg though? Is it a png?
@gwmngilfen The original samhain ("sowin") celebration is very different to what it's become. It's very distorted compared to the initial values, such as respecting and thinking of the ancestors.
@unicornfarts That's awkward... are you sure there's no way to unlock it? Yes I also think it's frustrating that it's difficult to modify the 'black boxes' tech companies produce.
@unicornfarts I didn't have to root my phone to put LOS on it. Make sure rooting is actually necessary! You might he able to unlock the bootloader (which is a separate issue) without rooting, like I was able to. I'm using a different phone, admittedly, but still it's worth a shot.
Just noticed, I've already gone 2 months without having play services on phone. It really is feasible to get by without google nowdays. #fdroid alternatives to many apps are finally getting decent.
If your phone company screws up, you can switch providers, and you can still call your friends because all phone companies are part of the single public phone network.
"Video games emerge as workers need to engage creatively in the most mundane of tasks to get an edge over fellow workers, glamorizing the violence of competition and the otherwise mundane process of learning arbitrary information and gestures through play. The arc of most games involves getting better and better at recognizing a particular set of patterns and deploying a particular set of skills ... to the point where the actual controls become second nature" https://reallifemag.com/well-played/
