@aadilayub I'm not so sure. If they did (not that they ever would), it would be marketed as Google's latest product and those who are not that tech/privacy savvy may inclined to join.

It may actually have a positive effect, in that it would raise awareness of Mastodon and potentially draw new people in.

@aadilayub agreed. IMHO, it's just as bad as YouTube's algorithms that promote more popular content, thus killing smaller channels.

If you're a small channel on peertube, you're less likely to have others viewing, ipso facto the video is gonna stream REALLY slowly. Which in turn means people are just gonna turn off and not go back (like me).

@eq how will you sign up for services that require an email address? Paperless banking, paperless bills etc.
