@bobstechsite I think you may be right.

@codesections you're absolutely right. I've been using Linux for around 10 years now, and I've only come across this myself a few times. This was by far the worst though.

@jason nevr heard of Bludit - very cool. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks @ChrisWere, appreciate the feedback as always.
It's such a shame that these people continue to ruin it for others.

@ignitionigel I suppose I haven't really noticed the difference because I've always ran plugins that block ads and trackers. I have had a few times where the PiHole just shows a full page saying "blocked by PiHole" which is interesting.
According to my admin page, I'm currently sitting at 32.3% blocked which is cool.
The "no difference" thing wasn't a criticism, I was making the same point as you - it's seamless. I won't be getting rid any time soon, I don't think.

So the feedback on my recent "Lightweight Linux" post has been...interesting.

I'm so glad the whole of the #Linux #Community isn't this bad!

Been using the Pi Hole for a few days now. I haven't really noticed any difference to be perfectly honest.

@ignitionigel yeah, I get you. It wouldn't be an issue if my site went down really either, I just wouldn't want the hassle of worrying about whether it's up or not.

@ignitionigel the ghost installer has let's encrypted and cert bot preconfigured, you just say "yes" when you run the installer and select a couple of options. It's super simple.
I agree, it's nice to have somewhere away from social media to post.

@ignitionigel I too have a static IP at home. I think a Pi would probably run Ghost, but I've had a lot of issues with stability (or lack of) with the Raspberry Pi, that I wouldn't trust it with something as crucial as my website.

@ignitionigel @joseph I'd go back to Ghost again if it wasn't for the fact that I needs a dedicated server.
Their implementation of Markdown is superb.

@joseph with regards to why Remarkable over LivreOffice well, it gives you a live side-by-side preview of the article that's rendered. That's the only reason.

@joseph the main advantage for my workflow over typing straight in to the WP editor, is that my WordPress site is locked down so it can only be accessed from my home network. A lot of the writing I do is outside of my network, so it allows me to write from anywhere.
Plus, having the raw articles on my machines, and synced via Synology, means I have backups of all my articles (my website is backed up anyway though).

@joseph I love markdown as you can format the the text without taking you hands off the keyboard, so it doesn't interrupt your flow.
Jetpack supports markdown, but there's a plugin called JP Markdown, so you don't have all the other crap that comes with Jetpack. Once that's on, yeah, you can just paste the raw text in.
Gonna need a second toot for this...

@gairsty I would have said so, yeah. I didn't think booking movies got so popular. Can't say I've ever had any issues booking.
