Anyone know of any good #Mastodon clients for Linux? I now have multiple accounts, so could do with a way of managing them all from one place. 🙂

@mike @ashfurrow @ordnung certainly looks that way. We're continuing to have issues to. I've just added some wildcard TLD domain blocks to the email domain blocking. Let's see if that helps.

@robert @ashfurrow @angristan already got the domain registered. Working on getting an instance spun up. We'll obviously keep it in it only. If you have fellow admins that you follow, please do share. The more admins we have on the instance, the better.

Hmmm all this discussion with fellow #Mastodon admins has got me thinking - we could do with a place for admins to collaborate and share info/intel separate from Mastodon.

Things like @angristan "naughty list" are invaluable.

@Gargron @david_ross don't know about everyone else, but many of the bots are coming from different IP addresses.

Hopefully you will be able to integrate something helpful in upcoming versions. I'm sure the rest of the community will assist if needed too. Long live #Mastodon!

@h4ck3r9 things like CAPTCHA (non-Google ones) or intergration with anti-bot measures, like Project HoneyPot would really help.

Interesting. Seems that @ashfurrow over on Mastodon.technology have been having the same issues as us with spam bots.

Let's hope we get some additional moderation measures in future releases. At the moment, it's very difficult to mitigate this kind of traffic within the admin panel.

@h4ck3r9 no. We have very few options open to us. We literally just disabled signup in the hope it dies down.

@ashfurrow we've been having the same problem over on #Fosstodon. Kinda glad to hear it's not just us, but it's pretty crap that we don't have a better way to protect our instances.

I did the same and disabled signup overnight. I've re-enabled, so we will see how thing go.

Signups are re-enabled. Let's see how this goes...

I agree though, if it's targeted, it may not help. I definitely think additional protection mechanisms would help.
