@chamarin Crikey, that's a lot of storage! My house has like, a single set of cupboards and that's it. I should buy more shelves and things, but then they get full of crap.
Clearing out some old drawers that haven't been touched since about 2012.
Found the remnants of an old relationship - letters, photos, a little book she made me. I can't throw it out, it's part of my life, but it was so long ago that I can't see myself ever looking at it or reading it again.
@shpuld I don't know what it's like elsewhere but in the UK it's common for them to use their Twitter accounts to gloat.
"We left this guy standing by the side of the motorway with no car because he had no insurance", that kind of thing.
If they are catching violent assholes, fair enough, but so much of their social media content seems to consist of gloating over making poor people's lives worse.
I've had a hard few years and while it's getting better, I feel like the place where I live reminds me of all the shit times I've had lately.
Just going out running errands and things - there's the car park where I used to go at lunchtimes and cry. There's the bridge I used to fantasise about driving off every night on the way home.
I can't go on like this, I need to get out to a different region, but I don't know what to do.
Here's a thing. I sell #radio and electronics stuff online. Every day I get several orders consisting of just the one PL259 plug. The postage (which they pay) costs more than the plug itself.
At least order two, for god's sake. What are these people doing with one solitary PL259? It's by far the most common order I get.
@cute_weeds At least they've always used one name.
Over here, they've had the bright idea of having .uk as well as .co.uk. Either you buy the .uk from them and pay for your name twice, or you run the risk of someone else getting yourbusiness.uk when the sunrise period ends next year.
@mkwadee I'm not sure about this. Isn't she just a fall-guy for Theresa May? She seemed to have literally no ideas or policies of her own and just continued with those of May.
Rudd going makes no difference at all to the people who have suffered and she's likely to be replaced with someone similarly talentless as part of the whole "we need a balance of remainers and leavers in the cabinet" nonsense.
Pet peeve today: visiting a random website and having to tell my browser that no, I wouldn't like to allow this site to send me desktop notifications, nor do I know why it would need to.
> In recent years, inclusion efforts (and other public Q&A work) have consistently been βfairly important, likeβ¦ roughly #3 on our list of priorities?β Which meant they got allocated roughly zero resources.
So, what you're saying is that inclusion and diversity were slightly less important than making funny little Lego pictures for your blog.
@devurandom My favourite thing on Russian TV is 60 ΠΌΠΈΠ½ΡΡ. I can't understand a word, but they all stand around looking vaguely menacing at each other until it turns into a full-on shouting match.
Getting ready to make another attempt at receiving the world heritage VLF transmitter SAQ in Varberg, Sweden on May 1st. Wrote a GNU Radio thing for mixing the 17.2 kHz carrier down to a more listenable 1 kHz:
