Wrote a python script to import post from a custom-built blog of mine a few years ago. As I'm spot-checking the conversion, I keep coming across posts that I don't remember writing, but wish I had done more with.

@ekaitz_zarraga We could make adapter boards 😂

Honestly though I imagine neither is ideal.

@ekaitz_zarraga My plan is to "standardize" around the SOPINE layout because their designs are OSH (vs. Raspberry Pi).

Kind of like how S100 became a "standard" :)

Cool, that makes sense. Personally I'd make it a different form factor than the compute modules if only to avoid confusion :)

I'm not sure but I would think that you could make that modular with the right considerations. I'm not an IEEE but it seems like I've seen similar things interfaced in a modular way with the right isolation/etc.

It's a bummer that there's not a standard SODIMM compute module I'm designing some myself and it would be nice if they were universal.

I think I follow. You want to put the switch "chip" onto a module/breakout kinda like how the compute modules work, maybe the idea is to be able to swap-out the switch chip you're using down the road?

I didn't see a schematic but maybe I was looking in the wrong place?

I know you can make ethernet connections via traces on a board (this is how PINE64's Clusterboard works) but I believe you need to have transcevers on both ends before you drop-down to traces.

That's part of the reason I was considering other interconnects because it seems like a lot of extra hardware, but OTOH it's simple and proven, so...

Tumblr: You scream into the void, and you get no response for a couple of months because for anyone to hear your scream, you have to have a few people behind you who enjoy your screaming.

Mastodon: You scream into the void, and the void screams back. The screams practically jump out of the void and compliment you. The screams are very nice.

I'm geeking-out pretty hard over this:

As weird as it may sound (coming from a programmer and such) I've always struggled using computer-based tools when it comes to making music. I really like the idea of something that surfaces a physical interface like an old-school 4-track but with the reliability of digital recording.

@jjg the more i read about these incredible projects made by a small number of people, the more baffling windows 10 becomes. I know they have to worry about legacy code and edge cases, but that doesn't explain why it's such an unpolished mess.

Maybe I should check BSD out again. I haven’t looked at it closely for a long time, at least two decades...

My first “Unix” was Minix. I ran it on an XT(not because XT’s were contemporary, but because that was the only thing I could find to do with this old XT I had :) )
