@xj9@mattcropp I think 90% of social.coop members are non-paying members (a few of us insisted on not creating a two class system of users vs. members, I recon it's worked out so far)
prob going to set this thing up as a cooperative a la social.coop
there's some specific details to workout since there are some other goals on the horizon and i'd like to have both members (paid) and users (unpaid, invited friends)
Cryptocurrency is pretty much a cult at this point.
Impoverishes members ✔️ Encourages spreading the word ✔️ Results in alienation from non-members ✔️ The solution to all problems is deeper participation ✔️
I'm not saying you can't approach it reasonably, but I've found most people don't.
This week Amazon started creating astroturf accounts that search & reply to tweets criticizing Amazon's working conditions, a normal & regular thing companies do.
The problems #Docker is meant to help with are worth solving, but it really does bring a whole bunch of other complexities.... I hope it's worth it for some people in the end.
@alexhillman Have you seen any functionality, settings, or tools to use two or more Mastodon accounts at the same time? As you are, I'm considering a geolocal invite only instance but would want to keep my birdsite-replacement account (this one) as my main one.
Another approach would be doing it at the agent-level. Imagine having a device like raspberry pi at home which hosts your ActivityPub instance and your SSB private key and a scuttlebot node. The two can bridge between each other, using your identity on each. And you can connect to them via front-end web or mobile apps, from anywhere.
I see several people from social.coop in SSB, at least 2 people from Holochain in SSB, a few people from SSB and social.coop in Holochain chats, and at least 2 people from SSB who have done experimental Holo apps..
