Not all AI-like software is evil garbage, not all software that learns about user behaviour is evil garbage, not all recommendation and behavioural monitoring software and services are evil garbage.

But all capitalist subsided for-profit AI-like recommendation software is always evil garbage without exception, 100% of the time.
If you're going to claim the opposite you will just have to show one single example of a successful capitalist such software or service.

But you can't, and you won't.

I want to say the most important skill in programming is patience? Like when you're 20 tabs deep into variations of "js filereader arraybuffer decode" and not screaming or throwing shit you're probably a good programmer?

There should be a global 'awareness' week for developers. For a week reduce your RAM to 2 GB, disable all cores except 2, downscale your resolution to 1366x768 and cap your internet at 1 Mbps (or less for mobile developers)...

Maybe, just maybe we will start to have less crappy, bloated software.
