Oooooh, my #pinebookpro is now estimated to arrive by end of day tomorrow! Alas, I will probably not be home when it arrives. I wonder if my neighbours will be home to accept it on my behalf.

@sikkdays Same. Plus Lego and various action figures (royal rumble, featuring He-Man and ninja turtles and GI Joes, anyone?).

@keithzg @ThatGeoGuy @keithzg Even the super key wasn't going to be branded, originally. They added that because the community requested it!

@keithzg @ThatGeoGuy @keithzg I thought there might be duties. $300 it is. Still not a bad price after conversion and such.

@ThatGeoGuy @keithzg @keithzg I probably won't be home when my comes, so I might have it go to a pick up point automatically. I've got to look into my options, since DHL is not great if you're not home for pick-up.

I think a lot about something Stephen Thrasher wrote after the recent UK election:
"What if most voters in the world want to be subjected to authoritarianism, debasement, patriarchy and racism? Forget the politicians and the press for a momentβwhat if this is what most voters actually want?
How do the rest of us live inside of this reality?" https://twitter.com/thrasherxy/status/1205372435077500928
and how it connects to climate, because I gotta say, these types of leaders, they're not great on climate.

@DissidentKitty This is why it's important to specify "new atheists" (or, as I sometimes like to call them, atheist fundamentalists). It's annoying when people don't make it clear that this is the group they're talking about.

@FssOfDeath @ShaunBartone I should probably take vitamin D in the winter.

@FssOfDeath @keithzg @ThatGeoGuy Same. As much as I would prefer more communication, I'm not upset. I'm just excited to get my hands on it. Originally, I thought I might have it for Christmas, which would have meant I'd have some days off work to play.

@keithzg @FssOfDeath @ThatGeoGuy I'm not in a huge rush, either. I just want some updates, you know?

@keithzg Yep. "YouTube comments are awful" has been both true and a meme for almost as long as YouTube has existed.

The only reason PornHub allows comments is to make YouTube comments look even worse by comparison.

@craigmaloney And kale. Someone who lived in my house before me ate tons of kale and we were cleaning little pieces of kale out of the kitchen for at least a week when we first moved in!

@FssOfDeath @ThatGeoGuy @keithzg I actually just emailed to see if I can get an update. Mine was ordered on Nov. 17 so it seems I *should* have already received a shipping notification (based on comments in the forum), but have yet to see anything.
I'm skeptical that it'll ship before Lunar New Year, at this point, which means I likely won't get it until sometime in February.

@FssOfDeath @ThatGeoGuy I don't think it was initially clear the different layouts were shipping at different times. I certainly wasn't aware until well after I'd already placed my order.
I had thought about going with the ISO anyway, since the original renderings for the ANSI model were...not standard. The more recent renderings, of what will actually be shipping, look much more "normal," though, so it's all good.

@melpsn Snow doesn't bother me much. Partly because I no longer drive to work. I walk. And the snow can be a hassle when people don't shovel their walks, but it doesn't meaningfully slow me down and usually if it's actively snowing that means it's a relatively warm day, so it's hard to be too upset about it.

@melpsn Oh, I like that window lamp thing. I would need to buy some, but I like that idea.
And, yes, only bad clothes. Still, when it's -30 outside, it's hard to muster up the desire to go outside when it's not absolutely necessary, even with my giant parka (that is actually TOO warm for most of the winter).
Cozying up inside with candles and warm drinks is nice, though.
