I saw some photos recently of a Disney animators strike and they had a functioning guillotine. The labour movement lost a lot of pizzazz and showmanship when they decided to become "respectable."

According to the-federation.info the #fediverse has crossed 3 million registered users (and this is excluding Gab)

@bamfic @puffinus_puffinus That's perfect! It's simple and to the point. Maybe still use icons (just toilet on one, toilet and urinal on the other) for people who don't read the language.

@puffinus_puffinus I know what you're trying to get at, I think, but I've never seen a "men's room" that had only urinals and no "standard" toilets, so this seems like a rare issue. But maybe just use icons on the door to indicate what's inside? If there are urinals, have an icon of one.

Way way way back in season ONE of Flash Forward I did an episode about what would happen if we got rid of all the mosquitoes on the planet. One of the plans floated back then was to use genetic engineering to make them infertile. After that episode went out, a biotech company tried that. It... has not gone according to plan. https://gizmodo.com/genetically-modified-mosquitoes-are-breeding-in-brazil-1838146152

Genetically Modified Mosquitoes Are Breeding in Brazil, Despite Biotech Firm's Assurances to the Contrary
      from Gizmodo
An experimental trial to reduce the number of mosquitoes in a Brazilian town by releasing genetically modified mosquitoes has not gone as planned. Traces of the mutated insects have been detected in the natural population of mosquitoes, which was never supposed to happen.

@porsupah Yeah, I don't really know how it works if we get it back but it's damaged. Insurance pays to fix it, I guess? Nothing I can do about it right now. Just waiting for insurance to call back.

@porsupah Yeah, for sure. It was a pretty nice car (one we'd never have been able to afford if we'd bought it new, but was not a bad price used), so I wouldn't be surprised if it was an "actual" theft. Probably the nicest car I'll ever own, because we got really lucky finding such a good deal. 😔

@RexfordGTugwell Thanks. We've got insurance and our neighbours are going to lend us a carseat so we can still get our daughter to gymnastics tonight (once we get a rental car), but it still suuuuuucks.

Apparently stolen cars are usually found, but it sometimes takes years and they may not be in good shape... 😔

I was joking with @allan about shipping Ollie and Natalie and I was kidding, but I also want them to be my sibling and sibling-in-law (I'm too old for them to be my parents). #breadtube

@dtluna "Classic" oat drink is kinda funny. Isn't oat milk a pretty new thing?

FWIW, I enjoy oat milk. Vanilla flavour (unsweetened) is good in coffee.

@Trussell I forget where I first read it, but I think it was also used to explain the talking animals: mutations as a result of nuclear fallout, or something.

@ben_hr @mattcropp I'm not familiar with that one, but I wouldn't be surprised. I suspect the "Juici" is a trade name, as well, given the unconventional spelling.
