@MacLemon I got FreeBSD working with Cisco IOS using racoon. X.509 auth works fine. But Apple wants me to use XAUTH before.

FIBs make it easy to get the routing right. One is for he VPN to get to outside via the default route, the other one for the traffic that should be tunnelled.

@MacLemon I never got IPsec based VPN to work on iOS. Would like to (my other end is cisco ios router).

@ink_slinger if something is wrong with your power settings (too much power is drawn) is is likely to come back with a new hardware - as with a new battery. I'd check with powertop if something is wrong. Maybe some GPU is using too much.

@ink_slinger Battry can be replaced. For the heat, I definitely recommend cleaning up the air ducts with compressed air and replacing of the thermal paste on the CPU with a new one. This makes wonders. In fact, this should be done every 2-3 years.

@anotherlurker yeah patience is the best. I started the same way long time ago. But also checking other people's following lists can be helpful.
