I currently have accounts in two instances: here and mastodon.social. Still figuring out how/why to use each, but thinking I’ll talk more about academic stuff here and frivolous stuff there. Anyone have tips on handling accounts in multiple instances?

@jankoekepan There's phenomenal public health chart for NYC showing 85% gains before modern medicine, directly attributable to policy decisions and infrastructure:

Pure freshwater supplies, sewerage, solid waste removal, quarantines, antisceptics, mateernal and early childhood nutrition, refrigeration.

Excluded are most vaccines, ALL antibiotics, major surgeries, xrays, etc.

And the subsequent gains are from harm reductions: coal, lead, asbestos, tobacco, alcohol, drugs, HC access.

Let’s make sure we keep the focus on what’s important and not allow well-understood terms, concepts, and existing rights to be redefined by those with vested interests in clouding* the conversation and eroding our human rights by backdooring in a new set of lesser rights for the digital/networked aspects of our selves.

The interesting thing about this story is that drones are now part of activism.

A story is not a story unless you can get video; this feedlot (a mini-scandal in NZ because we're famous for grass-fed, free-range beef but... we don't entirely always do that) has been running since 1991 but it wasn't until activists brought up a drone and took video that suddenly it became a TV story.
