Yup.

At least it was in reaction to your apparently "out of the blue" connection, the favorite notification. You provided the inspiration.

I don't think we have connected before that. A lot of my toots are not directed at anyone in particular, but when they are, I try to add the tag.

Sometimes I know why I click the favorite star icon. I think I'll go back later (I rarely do). I'm also aware that I'm sending a signal to the toot's author. I generally mean I'm interested in their statement. Sometimes I am approving, though not always.

The "fandom" rhyme happened after a notification appeared of someone favoriting one of my statuses (posts, toots).

Random connections are one of the most intriguing results of a widespread fediverse. I may never know what chord was struck to cause the click of that star in someone's timeline, especially when it seems to have been their federated timeline.

I hesitate to ask. It seems off, somehow.

Self-selecting serendipity
Finding random felicity.
The fediverse can be random
With some unexexpected "fandom".

WotD is probably a one-way kind of toot though it occasionally leads to a response, using or talking about the word.

I probably have mentioned that I do the WotD for fun and to give myself an excuse to do an illustration I think fits (at least peripherally).

The current definition of 0° Celsius is the temperature at which pure water turns to ice (at standard pressure, I think)

We can wonder if a future Earth has standard pressure at sea level which is different from ours today, would today's temperature records remain valid?
