I guess it is quite ironic that it is the very things designed to make things safe that trigger me. Cw, instance blocks and blocklists for it/users... these very things make it unsafe for me.

In my case, we need a cw to warn about cw on mastodon. I would hate to join a mastodon instance full of them.

@ayy I mean that it is a trigger for me. It's hard to explain but when I see it, I end up with this block but there are emotions on the other side of this block. If I don't detach myself then they will take over. It's hard feeling like I'm the only one that this happens to... and that it only matters to me. Like everyone else doesn't feel it.

It sucks that cws really ruin interesting threads for me. I can't bring myself to click to expand them... it's too emotionally charging for me to do anything but exit. One of the reasons I don't like mastodon.

Well, on the bright side, if I can turn off cws in pleroma... then with the thread fetching I won't need to check another instance only to be triggered by the cw they have in place.

@lain @wakarimasen @roka @shpufeff In that case, it belongs less of an issue. I know it is still an issue on GS. Not sure about mastodon. But if they use them then it would be needed for this purpose alone.

@roka @wakarimasen @lain @shpufeff OTOH, sometimes it is annoying having to jump instances to see an entire thread and you don't always want to follow everyone involved because it will be a clusterfuck. I could see a point for it for small instances, especially if you are alone on the instance. You may want to create a bot or another account to follow the people you don't necessarily want to follow on your main and still get to see threads.
