I saved this beer for today: Backwoods Ba$tard by Founders brewery. It's classed as a "Scotch" ale. I live in Scotland and have never tasted anything like this, it wasn't pleasant; it was like a pint of dark ale that somebody poured a large dram of whisky into. The whisky taste simply dominated this beer and made it quite undrinkable

@einebiene I had a nice quiet day. But it was too quiet for a Christmas day TBH. Weeguy was a bit subdued all afternoon after getting up mega early and MrsKevie wasn't herself and spent most of the day in bed

I've had a lovely day with my wife and child. We didn't stuff ourselves and I feel better for it. Had a modest dinner, washed down with a beer, and don't feel like a beached whale ππ½οΈπΊπ. It's been strangely quiet without any relatives, but we'll catch up with them soon π

After years of little change the local supermarket has decided to modernise. In the fruit and veg section it has an automatic water mist to keep the produce fresh. Just before it goes on, you hear the sound of distant thunder and the smell of fresh rain.
When you pass the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and there is the scent ofΒ Β freshly mowed hay.
In the meat department there is the aroma of charcoal grilled steaks with onions
When you approach the egg case, you hear hens clucking and cackling, and the air is filled with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying.
The bread department features the tantalizing smell of fresh baked bread and cookies.Β Β
I don't buy toilet paper there anymore, I won't even go near that department!!!!! #Joke

@welshpixie @anke the hospital here is terrible if you have an elderly relative or friend in. The visiting times are 10am-midday, 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm. However they close the senior wards at 6pm, so unless your unemployed it is very difficult to visit.Β

@tekk we have one local brewery which used to make really good beer. Now it produces stuff that is worse than the supermarket own brand pish water. A shame as it was nice having a decent brewery on my doorstep
