@fgraver that star/favourite is not so much a like as a hand on the shoulder to say that I'm listening to your story. It is so good you could be there to help your mother, even though an impossibly difficult situation.
#introductions I find defining me very difficult (I don't do small talk)
At my best I am purple. I might have been a cat once. I wonder what people think. I believe deeply in possibility & in people. I have vision, & dream. I will go far to meet people where they are.
I teach at uni: how to learn, teach, & perform. I play cello & often find my voice there. I am a big advocate of 'open' & write about it. I am still learning.
I love the resilience and majesty of trees, & I'm amazed at the world
Today I'm going out to lunch in the village. Yesterday I invited someone to join me. He's a dear friend but we haven't sat down with one another in over a year. When I asked, he looked busy, worried about accepting, and worried about declining.
I said- look I have a voucher for a free lunch, so I'll be there anyway. If you feel like turning up, I will enjoy your company. If it doesn't work out, that's ok too.
opening the door to 'let us hear from one another' & just be together
@katebowles@Downes Circular, yes, and you can 'find' intent (or receive/make it) where there is none. The circle does not have a defined starting point. I have been exhausted and played my cello for someone (without specific intent) yet the listener often finds plenty as it 'speaks' to them...
@katebowles time is a strange thing. Even when we pause, it's spinning. She's flying and maybe, just maybe instead of being left behind, you're moving in parallel.
It wasn't until after I left that I had a real relationship with my mother. Change can mean good things beyond what we know.
Hope the tomorrows are full of good things for all of you.
In the meantime I hope you enjoy the ones still home in new ways.
I love stumbling across wonderful people here. through a comment on a friends post, I found a blogpost that had this lovely explanation of Mastodon: http://mirabilis.ca/mastodon/
like a trail of flower petals, unexpected and gentle reminders that this is actually a nice place to be. Thank you @Gargron and I don't know you, but still thank you @mirabilis for the post. #Mastodon#thanks
