I take delivery of a piano. It fits where it's going, but to get there it will have to be upended to go around the corner. I am nervous.

My community orchestra has their informal concert where I will sing Nina Simone's Feeling Good (I am nervous)

In a week it's my cello recital. It is memorised. I hope I do as well as I can. It is a fundraiser for student instruments. ..nervous.

Ironically at piano o'clock I'm supposed to be at a mental declutter workshop. #smallstories

@artsyhonker other possibility is grants (which are so hard to get, but worth it if you can) If there is anything that has to do with community or some wider outreach then that may be something you can go for?

@artsyhonker do you write to ensembles/universities/organisations with demos? Is it like working to get performances?

One of the most formative things from when I was little. If you need a refresher, a ray of sunshine, I recommend it.

I haven't seen the whole thing in a couple of decades, but I still know every word. Has some wonderful people in it paving the way for open, fair, and caring thinking.

I'm going to a staff development session on 'unconscious bias'

I *think* I'm pretty good on that, but there is always so much to learn.

funny story (might have shared already) when I went to the bank to change my name to Professor (because, like who wouldn't if you could?) and the bank lady looked me up and down and asked if I had proof! haha! too young, too short, too fat/thin, too dark/light. Oh I hope it's well taught, then it might be amazing. ...maybe that's my bias about the teaching!

@jillybobww I for one am glad you are here. I wish I could send you a challah bread ( I always think of those because someone used to say my hair looked like that sometimes) I'm not Jewish, but most of my friends are. -maybe a music thing? Maybe a culture thing. whatever. I have similar rebuking thoughts at big holidays. Commercial stuff makes it worse. I firmly believe we make our families. Sometimes that's the only way to deal with our realities.

@RussSharek @Gargron I've used it for decades, and I have only recently owned it. Still many moments of wavering... but more glimpses of owning the YES. :)

@Gargron yet is the important word- tell yourself you haven't learned it YET. If you say 'can't' you'll imprint your brain. (sounds silly, cut I'm serious) saying something, believing it, & finding a way (through strategy, patience, and learning) can do great good.
