@pisscotheque thank you for reporting it, there was an issue with the database server but it has now been fixed and it shouldn't happen. Sorry about all the trouble.
@ondra I also don't know. I have 4 files attempting to convert in your instance and they were all hanging the server. I had to restart the services for your instance.
Could you please email me the file, so I can have a look at what be causing this.
@mike Well, I don't think there is an easy way. Obviously going to the database and manually tweaking it would clear it but I cannot offer to do that because I might end up breaking something. Still, other instances don't see the old post, is probably just your instance that have that old information.
@Xoldie I don’t install release candidates, only stable releases. Usually around 24 hours after a stable release if no issues are detected, I install the upgrade. @snder
@editor@Gargron I can "rails c" for you but what command should I run? I can also issue a direct update to the database, if I null the 'expires_at' database field will that make remove the expiration date?
@Robby Sorry, it is not possible to change the max character limits per post as that would require changes to the official code release.
Unless in the future Mastodon releases a configuration setting to allow adjusting the default value, I don't think that will be possible to implement on my setup.
