@dredmorbius@Gargron I can do that, but I tend to clear Notifications once I've read them. Replies remaining available (in their own optional column) means I have a way to reread old conversations.
@Gargron An available column that is just replies. This Replies column should be separate from the Notifications column. Content should be persistent (that is, not cleared when notifs are cleared).

clacke> As I said at the beginning of this article, the estimate of 1,500 police homicides per year would mean that eight to ten per cent of all American homicide victims are killed by the police. Of all American homicide victims killed by people they don’t know, approximately one-third of them are victims of the police.
@lnxw48a1 "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." - MLK, jr
@lnxw48a1 George died in 1932 at age 77, so he wasn't exactly around to lead the company to continued profitability. (He shot himself in the heart with a luger, leaving a note: "To my friends / My work is done / Why wait?")
A Kodak employee invented digital photography in 1975, and the DSLR in 1989. Kodak subsisted on patents until they expired in 2007 and filed for bankruptcy in 2012.
The money to found Kodak came from selling buggy whips.
#SMTP: I always laugh when someone using Outlook/Exchange attempts to recall a message. My mail host doesn't use Exchange, so I get to read what they regret sending.
I wish there was a replies column available. The notifications column is not sufficient. (When I clear notifications, I should still be able to view replies/mentions when desired).
And how does AP enforce privacy? What prevents a server from accepting "private" posts and displaying them in a non-private manner? Without such enforcement mechanisms, all privacy is advisory privacy.
Security between #OStatus and #ActivityPub is exactly the same. If that's the sole advantage you're looking for, you'll be soundly disappointed on an AP-only network.
As for the #blockwars problem that Roy @schestowitz mentioned, the only possible solutions are (1) to put better blocking and filtering tools in the hands of the users instead of concentrating more power into admins' hands; and (2) smaller instances instead of larger ones.
@lain SO TRUE We have huge chance in french speaking internet coz we have @Framasoft that are setting up every decentralized tool that probably exist and they are giving a lot if money to small project. For example 30'000€ to peertube dev. Peertube is decentralized video platform with webtorrent support.
