@GreyLinux bru airport is 30 mins away by train (except Ryanair who fly to Charleroi, watch that), trains v frequent.
ULB is a bit out in the sticks, so hotel doesn't matter too much. Stay anywhere in the centre (we use the Novotel) and follow the crowds to the busstop around 9am - 7000 people go to FOSDEM, so it's hard to miss ;)

@Floppy so I ran a reasonable stress test. 2 clients playing a DirectPlay stream (different videos) with VTT subtitles, one transcode running via Sync, and a library rescan, all at once.
The HC2 did well! Load climber to a peak of 5.3, but it's got 8 cores, so I saw no playback problems on either stream. It did get a wee bit warm, but that's OK :P
Next up, I need to test some DVB, but that means getting a DVB USB device.... and a new aerial :D

Very very pleasant evening at my first :rstats: users group meetup in Edinburgh. Lively too! Good talks, good chat, I'll be back for sure.
What did impress me is the range of people using R for their work - I met linguists, database engineers, statisticians, GIS mappers, ... Crazy. More glad than ever that I started learning this stuff (which is now almost exactly a year ago!).
Shame about the 2 hour journey each way to Edinburgh though ;)

I get it's hard to be not-defensive about a pet project, but these people know their stuff, folks. They just want to help...
