@codesections depends on your budget. I have an X1 Carbon and love it. Pretty much all of the X series is great, I believe.

@ndegruchy been using Bitwarden for a couple years now, after switching from LastPass. No complaints here. Been running WordPress on my sites for as long as I can remember.

There’s lots of swearing and a lot of the jokes have numerous meanings that allude to politics are society. It’s very funny.

@b0zil I’m pretty sure symlinks don’t work in Nextcloud. Maybe a simple script that copies them to your NC directory as a backup?

@EclecticEclipse you know the latest version of Mastodon has a new simpler interface? Are you using that?

If not, go to settings and disable the “advanced interface”.

@gentoo I’ve never installed Gentoo before, but I’ve been thinking about doing so as it would be a good learning experience, I think.

I’d also like to try Linux From Scratch, but I’m not sure I’d have the patients.

@mike I do a bit of both, but tend to gravitate to a notepad most of the time. I’ve actually been thinking about upgrading my iPad mini to the new iPad with the pen, so I have the best of both worlds.

@pcrock I use Toot! (@tootapp) it’s the best out there in my opinion.

I think the thing with non-tech users, is that Masto is inherently convoluted and probably difficult for many non-technical folk to grasp, so any app will be awkward I think.

But yeah, Toot is by far the best IMO.
