@VamptVo @starkatt thanks for that information. That's really great. I never understood why they used robots.txt in the first place.

@starkatt until the owner of the web page adds a robots.txt which causes the internet archive to delete its cache.

@SarcasmKid @jeffcliff When I'm travelling, I do that too and I'm not even English.
That said, I usually have some beans, and then some fried rice. So it's not an altogether normal English breakfast.

@jeffcliff that's a very entertaining read. Thanks.
Someone replied: "That's one of the reasons we're building our stablecoin with Bitcoin as collateral and no counterparty risk. The risk profile is as low as you can get"
Does this person even understand what they're saying?

@emelie I voted several days ago. When you vote at the embassy, you need to do it in advance. I believe that means my vote will be counted together with everybody else's on the same day.

@kev what do you want to do with the language? As a practical thing, JS is probably a good idea, but while it's a useful language, it's absolutely terrible from a design perspective. Not only is the language badly designed, its developer ecosystem is so horrible that the only ones who could argue it's acceptable are people who don't know any other languages.
But, like I said, it's a practical language that everybody should know.

Chrome now hides what they refer to as "trivial" domains, for example www. There is a keybase user with the name "www", which means his public domain is now displayed as just "keybase.pub".
If that's not a good reason why the domain hiding is a bad idea, I don't know what is.

@coryw @twylo Obsoleted may have been a poor choice of words. I meant that there is a lot of buzz around other architectures these days (in particular ARM), and Intel are seeing the biggest threat to their dominance ever.
That said, even if they do use specific Xeon features, porting to another x86-based architecture is probably much easier.

@lnxw48a1 that's early. Is that by choice or is that just the normal time for your work?

I have an old Kindle with an e-ink screen. It's the version before the paperwhite. Is there a way to install a free operating system on this thing?

@phoe @dashie @thegibson @pagrus @raucao @CountZero I went there, and as you said, it spikes the CPU. How do you figure out it's a cryptominer?

@juliobiason but wouldn't you just be able to start a new thread for that? Then you won't be doing any blocking.

@bob OK. I just read that white paper. I'm confused. This makes just as much sense as most other blockchain writeups I've seen.

What local youtubers do you watch that might not be known outside your country? I just watched this one here in Singapore, that was quite funny. https://youtu.be/k0m8-KYmvgU
