http://tuxjam.otherside.network/?p=329 reader's mail said Noise is on F-Droid, but that's not true if that means f-droid.org. Probably CopperHeadOS has its own store that they've added to their F-Droid configuration.
Sadly, the latest preliminary release of PureDarwin and the PureDarwin Nano distribution (just drops into a shell) are for macOS 9.
I wonder how much work it would be to bring a nano system up-to-date. There isn't *that much* in there, and Nix/macOS is just a few bits short of an OS as it is.
earlier this year, for a few reasons, I was pretty depressed (I basically quit working in tech and decided to recenter on things I was actually interested in, which was largely inspired by a large chunk of my life savings got burned by a techbro when they were supposed to be saving the business, it's a long story, I've talked about it before)...
and, honestly, being able to participate in a project like Pleroma at that time was very helpful in terms of getting my mind back into a happier place.
sometimes, you need something *new* and *different* in order to get excited about things again...
so, I am glad that @lain started this thing, it has been very fun to hack on, I've learned a new programming language, made contributions to a W3C standard and I've also made a lot of friends in the process. not bad, if I do say so myself...

When people think about self-driving cars, they naturally think about, well, cars. They imagine a future where they buy a new car that has a "self drive" button that takes them wherever they want to go.
That will happen eventually. But the impact of self-driving technology is likely to be much broader than that. Our roads are full of trucks, taxis, buses, shuttles, delivery vans, and more—all of these vehicles will have self-driving equivalents within a decade or two.
The advent of self-driving technology will transform the design possibilities for all sorts of vehicles, giving rise to new vehicle categories that don't exist now, and others that straddle the line between existing categories. It will also change the economics of transportation and delivery services, making on-demand delivery a much faster, cheaper, and more convenient option.
@katiekats "Correcting" someone's pronoun enforces your status within your dick social clique. Maybe there's a streak of #xkcd386 . Maybe dissing someone with more influence than you gives you a confidence boost. But I guess "just edgy" captures all of that.
I guess the point is: Don't underestimate the power of "just edgy".
"uLisp® is a version of the Lisp programming language specifically designed to run on processors with a limited amount of RAM. It currently supports the ATmega-based Arduino boards, SAM/SAMD-based Arduino boards, BBC Micro Bit, and MSP430-based LaunchPad boards. You can use exactly the same uLisp program, irrespective of the platform. …"
@benis @moonman @xj You don't want to talk, but I'll just summarize that what you describe as "one dimensional" and "inside the box", I'd rather describe as "incremental change". Revolutions aren't sustainable. Pivots are, but they require incremental underpinnings.
As for the rest of the digs, no, you're misrepresenting and, wilfully or not, misunderstanding everybody's position.
