Just got off the phone with a #keepbtlocal #coop board member, and it sounds like there's serious interest in parlaying the momentum from the Telecom conversion campaign into a wireless mesh co-op #isp in town, as we have a list of several hundred supporters who could be tapped.
So, please send me relevant #meshnetworking resources to learn more!

@maiyannah it was supposed to gain value as a very liquid electronic medium of exchange but the devs went all muh decentralisation which increased transaction and block verification times and then the hype train of holding it just swallowed the whole thing -

@6gain @lnxw48a1 I could maybe see (if not agree with) the point if they were genuine bargains, but most of the time its just the old crap they want rid of marked up for the previous few weeks and then looking like it has a huge discount. I was shopping for Weeguy this week on Amazon, added the stuff to my basket and then clicked "save for later" as I don't get paid until next week. Every day up until Friday I got email notifications saying "the price of an item in your basket has increased". One item went from £59.99 to £124.99 (three steps in three days) and then shock horror on Friday was back to £59.99 with a huge BETTER THAN HALF PRICE promo on the page #BoycottBlackFriday -

@Elizafox Because you used to have to input phone numbers by hooking your finger on a hole on a spring loaded dial, pulling that hole to the correct digit, and then letting go. It's why it's called "dialling a number". It didn't make a tone. Instead, it sent pulses down the phone line. Merely having to touch keys and hearing a tone was a new thing, so they had to give it a name.

I think you mean 4K/month (Euros?). First off, if taxes take 3/4 of your income, it is time to start the process of moving to another nation. If total taxation tops 50%, there is much less reason to try to work hard, since most of the benefit goes to someone else.
I guess that's the answer. I don't think I would willingly place myself in a situation where I was dependent on public support if I had the choice to support myself and my family. Maybe the European experience differs, but in the US, being on public support as a child was awful enough that as an adult I have gone without food rather than allow the bureaucrats to dictate what, when, and how much I may eat. -

Lets that from your work 7/7 almost 14/18 hours, you brass 40k per month and at the end after paying what the government forces you to pay you only got 1k and you've still have some charges like electricity, kids etc...
Would you just abandon everything because you're stuck in the sand since the past 8 years and just find a normal employment that's paid minimum wage without governmental charge and also social help for housing ? -
