Yesterday my partner was messing around with Ethernet cables which didn't follow standard documentation or norms. You know what helped him? A blog post from 2009.
That's why it's so important to preserve knowledge outside ephemeral means.
@maloki OK, thanks. I'll look into that.
Hey fediverse! Any recommendations for a self-hosted kanban board that works on mobile browser?
I've looked at Kanboard, but mobile doesn't seem to be good. I don't think Wekan is pulling it off yet either. Restyaboard has a mobile app, but I'm not a fan of its super complicated-looking cards. Jira is the current top contender but I'd prefer #FOSS obvs.
My guess is that there's some level of dogfooding going on, where they use it to work on itself, but I find this after only a few minutes
What from this will be available outside of discord, eventually?
(I don't use discord.)
if i were a centrist, i'd be so annoyed at fascism & socialism in that when one pops out, the other immediately presents itself as the only real cure.
luckily, i understand that the threat of me being poorer is not as bad as one of lots of people being killed.
Google is joining The Linux Foundation as a Platinum member. Google executive Sarah Novotny will become a Linux Foundation board member.

@teradyne @Gargron You'd need to implement a [citation needed] emoji just for the instance
Thinking of proposing that the WMF host a Mastodon instance, or at least allow one to be hosted. Maybe mastodon.wikimedia.org. Thoughts?
Anyway, if you want a pronunciation stretch goal, try
"Transmissible spongiform encephalopathies"
which gets you some additional syllables, with some more sibilants right up front there.
Thematically, it gets you into scrapie, chronic wasting disease, and the gruesomely interesting aspects of kuru.
@pamela Pong. I'll never forget when my dad brought it home and hooked it up to the TV. I was probably about 7 or 8, so 1979-80? It blew my mind.
Upgraded my TRS80. Mainboard is a ASROCK 960GC-GS FX. Keeps support for a 5.25 Floppy drive if I ever put it back in.
Heh.
But, 1, am not gonna tempt fate that way and 2, it really is a horribly cruel way to go when it does happen: I'd be mortified to wear it and be seen by the family or friends of someone who'd lost someone to it.
CJD does happen sporadically, after all. Not all that often but then it'd just be my luck to encounter someone who knew someone who had gotten it.
I used the ones at school.
Wrote a program to help me tally up video-cassette rental receipts for someone. (eg, reinventing databases, badly)
@xmanmonk @sparcipx "encephalopathy" takes a little practice, but it yields to a deliberate, analytic approach--no one part of it is particularly tough, there's just a lot to get through.
It'll soon be 30 years since my nominal possible exposure, at least sufficient for the Red Cross to reject blood donations from me. At this point, though, I'm liking my chances.
« Your quarterly reminder that unless you are a Ferengi from Star Trek, the word "female(s)" is an adjective, not a noun.
"Women" is the noun you're looking to use not "females". An adjective is used next to a noun. Ex: I am a female designer. I am a woman. We are not "females". https://t.co/Vrdk5QpoLA »
