@nolan I have spent the past few hours wishing I had done something similar to this! :P
My DB was fine, but when I upgraded from Ubuntu 16.04 to 18.04, _everything_ was a mess. Had to manually delete and reinstall all my gems, oddly enough.

While playing No Man’s Sky I've been turning my favorite screenshots from the game into classic sci fi novel covers. I've made three so far: Ascendant Eden, The Satellite Sun, and The Scavenger of Eden.
@Gargron I used to do the same, with the ostensible purpose of "helping." Turns out having that much metrics about health can sometimes just lead to more anxiety and stress. :P
@art @ajroach42 Probably Pi Day! :P
It is amazing just how available something like a Pi Zero W is today. Not just cheap, but _available_. Anyone can afford one and work with it. It's just so... democratic.
@Elizafox The rest of cryptocurrency can't crash fast enough, IMO. Tired of terribly high hardware prices.
Just tried to login to my old poloniex account and now it seems they're wanting SSN's to do any business there -- glad I cashed out what little crypto I had a while ago.
@phae "Headshots with a job application"
Is this really a thing?
Today I tried to do something I hadn't done for about a decade -- tried to play a Windows game in Linux. Using Valve's new tool they released, it worked far, far better than expected.
I got to admit, while I abandoned this type of thing (games under Linux) a decade ago, things have changed drastically since then. A lot of games, or at least the rendering engines they're built on, are being made with mobile in mind (which is all Android(Linux) and iOS(Unix)).
And then again, to toot a direct link to my own toot, referencing the bookmarklet that lets you toot.

@joshsharp @fribbledom That's good to hear! Even two years of fairly prompt, monthly security updates is better than nearly anything in the Android world (sans Google/Essential).
Even for flagship devices. (Looking at you, Samsung.)
What's disappointing is that when I was looking to buy a phone recently, I could barely find _anything_ official from Blackberry about how often security updates were, or find any record or online log they'd post about how often they updated.
@fribbledom @joshsharp Okay, that *is* awesome. Very neat feature. I thought about getting a KeyOne/Two for a family member, and that's a definite plus.
My major sticking point with Android devices, however, is the monthly security update availability. Have you had it long enough to see if you get monthly security updates routinely and reliably?
@joshsharp @fribbledom I still love typing on a physical keyboard (I was using a Blackberry Classic off/on until recently), but I'm actually faster with virtual "swype"-style keyboards today. It's the first thing I install on a phone.
@Elizafox Not running FB and Snapchat must be the only reason my 3 year old phone still feels fast. It rightfully shouldn't, anymore, but still does.
@jgarfink TONS. I get them to numbers I don't even use for anything, so I know for a fact spammers are just dialing every number they can, starting from 000-000-0001.
I started using the app Hiya, and it helped for a good while, but not so much anymore.
The number "spoofing" is the absolute worst. Spammers are able to make the first six digits of their number the same as yours, so it seems like a local call. It's insidious. Apparently the telcos are aware of it in the US, but don't care.
@eris I understood that reference.
this is the only advice on making music you'll ever need.
@brennen @staticsafe At least they're using something to organize around. At $WORK for me, it's still just email, and files. You know, sending large files over email? The absolute worst way to distribute information?
@craigmaloney @sn0w @mwlucas It definitely seems reasonable to ask, but it's ridiculous to expect. I'd expect exactly the opposite these days.
@anarchosaurus I disagree greatly with this rating. I wasn't really mature enough to run linux (without frustration) until at least 30. :p
@Are0h Interesting -- is that what it's reporting in the Sidekiq control panel?
Mine shows anywhere 4-7MB, but the actual server, postgres, npm, everything included is using closer to 900MB. :\ And that's for three users. :p
