@Are0h That's great news! I'm always curious about the hardware/bandwidth that other Masto instances have to deal with -- can you share anything about your setup? How much RAM you need/bandwidth you consume?

@ajroach42 I think the Intel i5-2000 series of chips is making a good run for it.

I am trying to buy a (rather large) telescope. Around 200mm mirror. There is a LOT of research to do.

I've been into astronomy since an early age, and have been tinkering around with other poeples' scopes for years, but weirdly enough, I've never actually bought one of my own.

@NFG @theoutrider Most other found-footage movies feature a showboating camera operator, recording because they want to be famous (in the universe of the story). In Chronicle, the camera operator is recording themselves privately, and it's not even obvious if they even want the footage they're recording to ever be seen by anyone.

@NFG @theoutrider Weirdly enough, Chronicle is the only example of a found-footage movie that I actually like.

Most found-footage movies make ridiculous situations to ensure that a character is recording -- Chronicle is the only movie where the fact that the character is recording makes sense.

The main character is a young person, in the 2nd decade of the 21st century, that constantly records themself. At one point the footage changes from personal camera to news footage, smoothly.

@ajroach42 I feel your pain. I have a massive colleciton of rips from old DVDs I used to own. Some of them are downright painful to watch on a 4k screen. :p

@Miredly Ooh -- I don't know, but that's a neat app. I think ZoneAlarm used to work like this on Windows, long, long ago, before it became bloated and full of evil.

Cleaning up a deceased loved one's online history/accounts is tough work. I'm trying to think of what to keep/delete so that there's not just accounts out there in the nether.

@ajroach42 I give another vote for Podcast Addict. In my last year of using Android, it was the only client that wasn't absolutely frustrating to use.

A close second would be the Podcast feature built into Google Music (as long as Google Music is still around, and you can find the podcasts in their database).

@Are0h Don't overload it with buggy plugins, and it works great.

Trying to help a friend get a Chromebook working remotely... in China. This is exciting.

@inmysocks @staticsafe I can't even get regular copy/paste to work reliably on Linux 100% of the time. :p From application to application, copy/pasting seems to work about 3/4th of the time.

The Arctic Monkeys are playing in my town, but $120 a ticket is just too much. I don't know what kind of show they're putting on, but it's not worth that.
