All my research at the time resulted in me finishing this timeline of historical fashion from 1770-1900 for one of my class projects. I was channelling "Horrible Histories" a bit when doing the cartoons for it. ;)
(And yes, there is a mistake there; the 1830s were called the "Romantic" era, not the "Regency" era, which was earlier. :\ Nice going, me.)
@srol Hey, totally understandable. I've had several close friends/family members lose their jobs in the past few years, too. Luckily, I was able to extend them a good amount of help until they got back on their feet.
It's something I've started doing to any friends who still _have_ jobs -- I constantly let them know if anything ever happens to them, employment-wise, they're welcome to crash at my house. I had a few extend the same promise to me, too.
@staticsafe@nolan@michel Oh, not the salt -- I was just talking about the "walking around in t-shirts when the temperature is 20 degrees below freezing" thing. :p
@michel I love this: "On the street Dubak. I could barely walk, wrapped in a Moscow down jacket, but people walk in T-shirts. HOW AT THEM DOES IT HAPPEN?"
Nice try, attempting to get our worst childhood fears for future use! I hope everyone who responded to this trick post enjoys having these fears suddenly materialize one day in future VR simulations!
@tom That's too bad. USB-C is great -- I've been using my cables interchangeably over the years, across many different company's devices. I imagine as long as you buy from a legitimate source (i.e., not just some random seller on Amazon), it's fine. I've had great luck with Anker cables over the years.
The fact that I'll soon be able to charge an Android phone and the new iPad with the _same_ cable is amazing.
@nolan I guess I stayed home this day -- never even got to "take the test" 😆
After getting rid of Instagram a few weeks ago, my entire exposure to anything social-media related is now just checking Mastodon every 48 hours or so. Makes it real hard for me to get trapped up in one of these firestorms, and for that I'm happy.
