Have a feeling it may have been intentionally omitted.
It might have the effect of tilting the engagement away from popularity seeking posts.

@mattcropp @tbeckett @BeechMtn @christianbundy @jordancrane sounds good.
@Zaiaku Actually if pronounced "murther" of crows.
From the olde english.
@paregorios purposely? that is one smart dog.
Though still not as smart as these crows who had to calculate the trajectory of the moving vehicles so as not to get hit.
@medusa I’m with you on tech. For a lot of folks in this neck of the woods it’s like saying don’t talk about what you’re most passionate about unless you bury it where I don’t have to see it.
Though on politics timelines would sure be a lot less aggravating if people did CW.
Pictures of people’s cats is where I draw the line.
By that I mean I’m leading the charge to have all cat related content under CW. So far it’s not catching on.
@dajbelshaw when you build it my friend. When you build it.
Don’t get me wrong I love having a baby and a toddler.
Watching them experience new things every day, some difficult, some easy, makes you re-evaluate the hardened set ways you’ve come to look at life.
But for the love of god is it too much to ask for 5 minutes alone time in the bathroom without one of them screaming bloody murder or the other one banging on the door asking if whether you are “pooing or peeing?’
Pretty sure I just saw a group of Crows dropping green walnuts onto the road in front of oncoming cars and then swooping down and removing the opened goods.
Knew crows were smart but that is kind of ridiculous.
Move over Aliens or #AI I've got my money on sentient vengeful crows as the primary method of non self inflicted humanity demise.
@ND3JR certainly.
It’s a cool big crazy house being built without a set of plans over there.
People painting in various rooms at all hours of the day.
You can stop and anytime, pick a color or a brush and join in for as long as you like.
Or you can decide the house needs a whole new wing and get lost trying to get that built as well.
Everyone wants magic.
But hardly anyone wants to pay for the infrastructure that makes magic happen.
Facebook is a uniquely horrible creature.
Birthed as Ivy League frat house wet dream.
Coddled on narcissist need to always exist (be seen/be heard).
Juiced on the frictions of rubbing together ever available ideology divides until they bleed.
All the while gorging on copious amounts of free content and data until it enveloped the world.
There is no better version of this.
Only better places to spend our time and energy.
Where hopefully we can become better people.
@mattcropp @Matt_Noyes @ntnsndr @gc adding to this - as the SC community is a unique blend of collective and cooperative with a strong decentralized vein there has been some pushback to anything resembling centralized power like a “board”.
The Ops Team approach will hopefully add some structure to the key processes while allowing for the amazing experiment in large scale democratic governed volunteer run platform to continue to grow.
As part time primary caregiver to a 3 year old who spontaneously shifts between latched on the leg neediness to prison riot rebellion I keep finding new levels of patience I never knew I had.
Also I find myself screaming like a crazy person about mundane things like oranges, putting on pants, and hand washing more times than I had accounted for.
@Stoori @Antanicus @h exactly.
Enter the conundrum of a “social” platform cooperative.
On the surface the economic value is not really defined or at the forefront yet it has intrinsic value and the economics are very important to its sustainably and/or survival.
It’s easier discern with marketplace platforms which is why it’s a wonder there aren’t more of them.
CORPORATIONS: Where good ideas are stamped out to make way for ones that make your manager look good.
COLLECTIVES: Where good ideas and passion go to be buried under mountains of endless debate.
COOPERATIVES: Something better or somewhere in the middle.
All up to the member-owners.
Maybe computers aren’t all bad...
I’ve always been able to hold the macro and micro in my mind at the same time.
The big picture and all the steps required to achieve it.
Which seems like it would be a blessing
but when you can fully see the possible and also every thing you are not doing to get there, in minute detail
more often than not it feels like a curse.
Your identity is not mine to define.
Neither is mine yours.

@iona yeah I still have to go back and forth. Sometimes DDG just produces frustrating results.
