@maiyannah
It's not like they can...*takes a brief break to look up how to spell capitalize* on their body much while gaming, when there's vids out there of them totally naked doing sexual acts, I suppose.
I kinda wonder if that wasn't the case, if those people would go down the 'teasing stream' route or stick to what they're currently doing while streaming.
-
@maiyannah
Wait, seriously?
I've only heard about that guy in passing, I didn't know he did..that.
This must be how it feels for someone to vaguely hear about David Gallant, and then pick up on his GG masturbation thing.
-
Why do people advertise their twitch gaming streams with a selfie.
I watch you play a videogame, because you're supposed to be entertaining vocally.
The two things I care most for here are your voice and the game. The thing I care least about here is your face.
-
@maiyannah
I love you sis.
-
@maiyannah
That's, what I mean. You know that, and yet you love me, and, I don't really deserve that, doesn't feel. Classic case of negatives outweighing positives, caring for me. I, really appreciate your love, I just, don't feel confident in myself enough to know how I deserve it.
-
@maiyannah
how the hell do you love me then?
-
But er, anyways.
I'm being stupid, cos I'm in a stupid headspace way.
Give hugs to someone smart and lovely, because she's faced trials and hardship, and become better for them, @maiyannah.
...god knows how she puts up with it all, I've still not learned her secret. But she deserves goodness for it.
-
I still react awfully to extreme emotions and don't know how to handle them.
I still break down crying at the slightest thing.
I still desperately look for hope and goodness in others even when it totally fucks me or others over, because I don't want anyone to repeat the cruelty I've seen.
I still push away though who care for me because I don't believe I deserve their emotions.
I still every single moment want to run and hide and never come up because actually living when it feels like I should have died years ago, is terrifying.
These things ain't excuses and I don't deserve pity for them. They're just me, and I, apologize for those who deal with that.
-
I'm quite emotionally immature in a lot of ways due to what I've faced in my life, and, suppose that's sort of silly.
Some people face deeply tough times and come out more mature, they've seen the worst, they're stronger now. Maybe more cynical or something at most, but they've learned a lot in those years.
Others...just kinda break and then don't know how to deal with anything. They've seen the worst and the worst destroyed them, and now they make lots of mistakes, and don't know how to manage anything. They learned precisely fuck all in those years out of fear, and now they're thrust into life while having never truly grown up and discovered important lessons.
Unforunately, I'm the latter camp.
-
@maiyannah
I hope they work darling, love you.
-
@maiyannah
Well, yeah, but like...I dunno.
You're right, don't get me wrong, this whole thing just...fucks with me a little and I don't know what to make of it. It's a whole lot of hurt all over the place and I'm bad at tackling such in a logical way.
Hence...just...gonna take your word as noted.
-
@maiyannah
I guess it's just...a lot of those saying what they have, are types that I wouldn't have said -have- been that level of slighted by him.
I understand in the case of what you're mentioning. But I struggle to see, in the case of many, he personally totally fucked them over. A lot of it seems politically motivated from what I've noticed.
But, I dunno. I'm not -that- invested in the whole thing, I used to respect him, and don't anymore. At the end of the day, I hope those who feel genuinely slighted by him feel better in time, and those who miss him can move on in time. So I'll take your word for it.
-
@maiyannah
I agree, and I'm not advocating that.
I've just seen a lot of people saying -no one should feel sad at all because the man was pure evil incarnate and if you ever liked him, fuck you- and that's...well it's not what I'd call 'discussion'
I don't agree with them just as much as I don't agree with the people chasing after anyone with a slightly bad word to say.
As always, my point is merely, the extremists on both sides are what let the whole thing down.
-
@maiyannah
I think in the particular instance, the case is whether there's empathy or not.
I, at least personally, don't really have an issue with people not liking the guy. Much like you, I went off his content, and ended up quite dissatisfied with his behaviour.
There's just...two types of people. Those who note that, but still respect the good he did, and appreciate how sad it must be for others.
...And all the people who ridicule him, anyone who liked him, act like he was basically Hitler, did no good at all, when the body ain't even cold.
Hero worship generally isn't very good, but there's the respectful way to point that out, and there's the...people tastelessly cruelly tearing down everything and everyone associated with him.
No one is perfect. But a lot of these people need to learn that not being perfect doens't inherently mean you're literally Satan.
-
This happens a LOT, especially in films.
Just look at the fighting between Marvel and DC film fans.
Both sides constantly go on about the apparent 'depth' you're missing in them. Marvel fans always going on about how they're perfect films that allegedly curbstomp all else, DC fans always going on about how it's the worst crime ever that they're not well recieved and actually Zack Snyder is Christ Reborn.
Maybe you just like imperfect things because you're a fan. You don't need to spend all of your time defending these things, or tearing down the other thing.
You're a fan. You like it. That's cool. Enjoy yourself. They're not worth the constant amateur overanalysis littered with your own biases. They're just pieces of media you happen to like or dislike cos that's just like, your opinion man.
-
Apparently controversial opinion, it's okay to be a fan of a piece of media. Even a crap one.
But...don't spend countless hours desperately marking the hill you wish to die on, defending something that's not actually all that good, cos you're a fan.
People can enjoy bad or mediocre things. That's okay, if it's your type of thing. When you interact with it, you mightn't think it's bad at the time, after all, you're enjoying it.
But...there's nothing wrong with accepting that's the case because at the end of the day, you're a fan.
Recognizing and accepting ones own biases is a -good- thing.
And no "I know I'm totes biased but [insert 20 page essay about how it's actually the best thing ever that totally ignores their apparent recognition of their bias]" isn't really the same.
I like and enjoy some things that aren't very good for whatever field or genre they're in. That's okay. I'm not gonna pretend they're some pinnacle everyone has missed.
-
Don't grow attached to strangers, kids. Celebrity worship is silly. Never know when or who, might be 'exposed' as actually shitty.
Yes, even -that- one person you're thinking of "but they're so great tho"
Bet a lot of people thought that about all the people who have had/are having many allegations coming out against them, and their faith in a stranger didn't stop that.
Strangers don't care about you, at most, an adoring fan is easy money. The sooner that's accepted, the quicker you can enjoy things without being crushed later cos it turns out, they're just the same as all other humans.
-
If you're literally giving me a notification to tell me someone replied to me, they're obviously not offline are they, Monal.
-
Wouldn't accept and authorize accounts that had completely correct information, so I had to quickly re-install it and then it suddenly started accepting that yes, I was inputting correct info all along.
Also won't recognize my wifey as being online even as I -recieve replies from her-
-
Elon Musk posts about his whole "Should we make a site that rates the credibility of media."
Heh, that seems very easily abused, to say the least. Wonder what people have said about it... *looks*
People unironically replying to say that Gamergate and Deepfreeze already did that perfectly well.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
