So, 3-4 years after Apple Pay comes out, which is supposed to be the new, cool way to pay for things because Credit Cards are old and busted and can be tracked, and what does Apple come out with?

@theoutrider @lynnesbian I live in the states and actively try to use the metric system as much as possible. It makes a lot of people actually visibly angry here. :\

@TheGibson @theoutrider Yep. I stopped following anything new from Google around 2011. I'm still sour about the Google Notebook retirement, and Google Reader's retirement was the end. I was even a Google Apps for Business customer for four years; not anymore. I'll never make the mistake of paying for a Google Service again.

@leadore Someone might have already explained this already (in a toot I can't see), but a while back FB either "encouraged" or made public posts the default on FB. The days of FB posts being only visible by friends and family are very old -- probably 10 years ago they made this change, unless I'm mistaken.

I boot from an internal nvme SSD that I have in a strange external mount, taped to the back of my laptop screen.

But I would never depend on this thing for emergencies!

I honestly had fun cramming CyanogenMod onto my G1 a long time ago (and a succession of tons of phones after that).

Eventually, though, I just got tired of my phone just sometimes _not working_, especially since I actually one time had to use it in a very scary emergency situation.

From that point on, I want my phone always running the most rock-solid, well-tested, and corporately-funded OS I can get.

Even with a "free" phone, one can still be tracked via cell carrier. And wouldn't it be easier just to get a nice wifi hotspot and carry around a linux laptop if one needed connectivity everywhere? :P

It's time to come to iOS, friend. I did, after using Android since v1.0 on the G1. Got sick and tired of spending so much of my brain power on nothing but getting my own device to work. :P

Now I use an iPhone, no longer worry about it, and spend my time coding things for _other_ people. :)
