@Are0h what I don't understand from the discussion is why trending hashtags lead to more abuse. I understand that hashtags in general, and being able to search for them allows harassers to find targets. But, what I don't get is how a trending list impacts that.
For instance, I don't think the trending list on Twitter has many of the hashtags that harassers are using to search.
Got this shipping notification for 250lbs. of t-shirts for Texas Linux Fest. If you're in the Austin area or willing to travel there come join us next weekend! I'd like to come home with significantly less than an eighth ton of t-shirts.
@marsxyz I actually don't have an Instagram account, but I get your point. Do you think that some people will "leave" Mastodon and use primarily their PixelFed account?
Seeing lots of people with Mastodon accounts making #PixelFed accounts. How do you plan to use them? Pictures one place text the other? Have one re-toot the other?
I definitely understand the appeal of a photo-first user experience but I'm unsure how to make multiple accounts make sense.
@torgo you can search for it, but there's a rather heated discussion about that instance when it was setup. They block all kinds of IPs, so most instances can't federate with them.
It seems like they're more interested in having their own social network rather than participating in something larger.
The kids aren't allowed to swear at home. As they were playing balloon baseball one missed and yelled out "Oh, bit.." as he caught himself. Next he said "I meant to say 'Oh, bitcoin!'"
I'm indecisive on whether bitcoin is a swear word and he should be punished.
Researching my family history and found out I have a relative named "Eula" born in the 1930's. My family was clearly ahead of its time. I hope she became a lawyer.
